Health Hero for August: Debbie Quinn

Health Hero for August: Debbie Quinn

When asked if she would share her journey to better health and wellness; without hesitation her response was “Absolutely! If I can give someone else the hope and encouragement to do the same and step out of their comfort zone. That makes me happy” And what a journey it’s been.

Like many other young women, Debbie’s’ weight gain really started after the birth of her two children. Being busy with life she never really looked at herself in the mirror or even thought about her weight. That is until her doctor told her she was borderline diabetic. That coupled with a cancer scare was all the motivation Debbie needed to get serious about a complete lifestyle change.

Debbie started making sustainable diet changes and joined Vintage Athletics. She gained stability, strength and confidence. Identifying a particularly difficult area; Debbie opted for a tummy tuck. After several weeks to recover Deb was back in classes; working harder than ever.

To date Debbie has lost 123 lbs and counting. “Just because I’m 67, doesn’t mean I can’t set goals and accomplish them. Age is just a number.”

And might I say that you make that number look damn good Deb.
